Week After Week

Hey All,
I know I only post things from week to week but this due to the exams period besides I want everytime I share I have thing to say either news about my games or news about any other indie stuff :).

First of all about Hello World! project, this week I was surprised that a flash game is released having similar name (Hello Worlds!) but thanks god that the creator add (s) at the end of the World :) so it became different.

About the graphics Tomy was making my friends when they saw it, They said to me that its small and they want bigger sprites and I want it more chibi (may be bubble head (large head, small body)) so Tomy started to recreate the sprites again and make a small mock up for how it going to look.

I told him the size is very nice but I want smaller body and colors not to be to retro style I want it more smooth.

Also when I was free some how I was trying a particle effect engine with different styles and I generated a very nice effects take a look.

About Pace Maker FP I make the achievement works also I make HUD and preloader screen and make some small modifications.

Now lets go to indie news on the scene :)
First I found a very nice video about pixels I wanted to share it with you :)

Also Some people created a vedio about the famous flash game called Every Day the Same Dream, the video is to nice but also too sad

Last about videos a nice pixel art documentary video was made take a look on it

There are indie game bundles released these days from Boss Baddie team called the Lunar Pack where you pay what you want for two of their nice games (Wake and Lunnye Devitsy) also including some nice soundtracks from their next game Tomshire :)

Third thing is about a tool I published about it before called Sculptris now version 1.0 is published. Sculptris is a free 3D easy modeling tool :) take alook on it

This is all the news till now :) Hope you enjoyed it :)
I had to go as I had lots of study to do :)

Game Release: The Egg & The Stone (In my view Bad news)

Hi all,
You maynot understand why bad news ?? Thats easy because it is not really a game its learning game to learn what is called resolution principle a logical principal to solve logical problems. The game team was large 20 persons divided to lots of things. Although we were large but we dont work alot on this game as we were too busy in lots of other projects.

The game is finally done (without sounds or music) I was assigned me and two others to make the game graphics using XNA studio.

I draw the whole charcter set and make the design of the GUI code and classes in C# and make the integrate everything of the GUI and help in final integration in the game.

The game in my view was a horrible experience and also was not funny it still contain some bugs but these bugs are becz of the A* algo used in moving and we didnt have time to correct it.

Important Note: be sure to install CNFFont.ttf file in your windows and install XNA runtime :)

You can give it a try I upload it on GameJolt as usual and here is the link.

By the way the game isnot easy to be learned :) you may dont understand what to do.

Also I've heared about a new compo on website called IndieHell.

Theme: SandBox
DeadLine: 31 Jan 2010
Link: IndieHell Contest

I wish I have some time to enter Robosquid Compo as I had an amazing idea and I want to do it :)
Thats all news for now :)

Post-ailure :D

Hi All,

Long time since the last post as usual :D thats because the new year semster has started and I have lots of stuff to be done.

I had 3 news I wanted to share with you :)

First one is about the site RocketGames a site looks like YoYoGames site and GameJolt as It is used for uploading games. This site has the ability that the developper on it can sell games easily as it support a secure payment method through PayPal.

Payments are made via PayPal with Roket-Games taking a small cut for controlling access to the full version. Submitted games will be moderated before they appear on the site to ensure that they are of sufficient quality to be sold and that the price is appropriate.

There is a nice earnings calculator which shows, for any sale price, the revenues received by the developer, Roket Games and PayPal. Full details on how the scheme will work are available here.

Second one is about an educational game I and a team from my colleague having it as a project for MI (Machine Intellegence) subject. I dont know any details about it as we didnt started it yet but what I can say that it will be made using XNA library :)

Third one is about style of art I was trying it using Paint.Net this style of art I dlove it so I may in vacation make a game using this style of art. Take a look on the picture and tell me your opinion :)

This is all the news for now :) Hope you still reading the blog :)
