Longest Ever Post I think For the New Year (2011)

Hey All,
First this is a very very very very long time since I post, but I was really busy and still busy but now less busy than before.
The reason I was away was due to army first I was away for 50 days in my training camp then when I returned I go everyday from 5:00 am and return home at 6:00 pm working for army so I reach home tired and go for sleep directly or see a movie and sleep.
No big deals and what make it worse for me that I am have collegue post graduate studies and I was having exams and I didnt study well because of the army.

Lets forgot about all that and lets talk about games and news. First thing before you start reading BEWARE!!!! this post is long and require lots of free time to try everything and test lots of stuffs in it. So if you aren't free mark this post as good post and come back when you are free :)

First part of the Post was for the New Year (2011) :) First thing I must say Happy New Year 2011 and Goodbye 2010 (I know its a bit late but I said my execuse in the upper part) So forgive me about that :)

There is nothing better to celebrate new year than trying best games of 2010. The following lists are made by lots of sites espicially Indiegames and TIGSource.

After this large list of top games GameMakerBlog have made a video for 100 Game Maker Games in 10 minutes


Now for the 2nd Section of this post which talks about some game news but for some reasons all the news I will going to talk about related for Apple stuffs either iPhone or iPad or MAC.

First the famous GameMaker game designer Jesse Venbrux have pulished iPhone games and MAC games of his old games. The games are

Second Stuff is that YoYoGames have started there store which produce games for PSP , iPhone/iPad, MAC and Android go and check everything


Third stuff is that World of Goo iPad version have 50% discount and you can buy it now by 4.99$ only go and grab a copy.

Last thing in game new that Cactus made a MAC version for lots of his old famous games,

Third thing is Open Source News :) as lots of stuffs are now turning Open Source so lets check whats new there.

Some News :)

Hi All,
A week as usual from last post :) as I can't do better than that in these days :) lots of meeting and working and less time to sleep :)

First I will talk about my projects :)
Hello World! is still buggy and contain lots of error :S the server side was sending data lately so the game speed at the client decrements as more clients get involved. We were having this huge problem till yesterday were we tried an old library, We tried it long time ago (called Lidgren) and we found it is not better than threading in the dotNet Frame work but when one of my friends try it yesterday it worked nicely and this problem was nearlly disappeared so we were so happy :)
There are other problem with graphics and I am affraid that my friends may dont like it :S I am not proffesional with Lighting and stuffs like these. I am only good at retro style effects some particle effects no more :S but guassian blur and other effects I dont know how to do it so I will try to learn how to do them so I hope that I can do it perfectly :)
About Tomy the artist he send to me some mockup for the character (his face will be changed to be more chibi look)





About Pace Maker FP I have programmed the super powers (Shield and Kaboom) also I programmed the coin generator where it generate the money from the destroyed enemies. The remaining now is the enemies and the logic for achievements and saving achievement and may be highscore table.

Last thing about my project news that I am going to stop working a little on these projects due to exams period is coming and I didnt study anything :S "exams will start at 6/6"

First these are amazing interviews I've collected they are amazing:











There are another interview with Edmund Mcmillan but this interview was made as a part of Indie Game Movie where it is set to feature a variety of well-known indie gaming figures and document the way their projects and ways of life reflect the indie gaming scene as a whole. Go and support the Indie Game Movie on Kickstarter where they are seeking to reach $15,000 budget :)

About Ludum Dare Last compo Gaiadi game win the compo :) its a very nice game you should try it :)

Another breakout news :) Adobe make a deal with google so that flash games now can run on Android operating system for further details here is a link

Thats was long long time

Hi All Followers,
I know that it was long time since my last appear here on the blog but I was too busy and still too busy but I decided to make a very quick post for all my followers and friends who still check my blog.

I was saying that I am going to participate in YoYoGames 5th Competition with my game NightGuard I started working on it till I make a very descent engine but afterwards I stopped alittle due to my military training but when I finish the training, me and graduation project team where having a presentation that must be finished in two weeks maximum so we were working so hard these days and I didnt study anything during these days till we made a very descent presentation where lots of people love and we get good marks.

After the presentation we had very tight time before the midterm exams so we had to work hard everyday then by time we stopped for midterm exams because none of us study anything and if we didn't study well for it, Bad things will happen :D So due to all that I missed the YoYoGames 5th competition, so I stopped working on NightGuard but may be one day I will return back to it and finish it.

First lets talk alittle about what I have done in past days:

First about NightGuard:

As I said I made the engine and it works fine (its made by GameMaker 8 Lite version) and made some tiles and graphic asset but I didn't like the tiles alot I wish I had time to change it.

Second My Graduation Project (Formally called Hello World!):

First of all I have said before that my graduation project by time is an Online Multiplayer Arena game (client server game). We still working on first prototype where you can move and attack (melee attack only).

Since due to very small time remaining an amazing artist (Hassan) decided to join to help us with the graphic assets. He didn't do isometric before but I know he will be amazing :) you can check his drawings here.

I knew hassan from a friend of mine called Ahmed Saker (well known on TIGSource Forum) as they are working on collab project called Fares you can check it.

The game will be a new type of gaming that never been made before (So stay tuned). Till the beta release here are some pictures for flyers and small intro made for by the flash for the powerpoint enterance (which we made at our presentation day):

Sorry it has been long time

Hey all,
Sorry for not posting from long time :S But I am too busy these days as at the morning I had a 2 weeks military training :S which is so bad and hard on me.
And at night I had to work on my Graduation Project which is changed to fit with my interests (this change happens by luck :D)

Now my GP (Graduation Project) will be an RPG Online Arena game :) it will be looks like DOTA but in my friends prespective :)

I am sorry for not updating so often so I have some old and new news :D

Last thing about my YoYoGames compo entry :S (Night Guard) I made the main engine of the player movement long time ago but I stopped and didn't continue due to military training and GP project so I don't know if I will have time to finish it.

And about starting with FlashPunk I wanted to do that so hardly but I only use it for 2 hours then I had went to sleep and from that time I didnt see it again due to the same reasons for not continue working on Night Guard.

Thats all what I can say right now hoping that I can do something good. May god be with me :) Thanks for everyone who still come to my blog I will try to make frequently news now and often after my military training which will end on next thursday :).

:S Bad News :S

Hey All,
First I am totally sorry that I didnt post anything for long time but I started exams on past sunday and I had an exam yesterday and the days before I had to study hard :)

Till now I didnt start AS3 with FlashPunk hopefully I can start it soon also the progress in Night Guard has been stopped since I started studying for the exam (means two weeks ago :S) which is along time :D


For the assemblee compo :) it has come to an end and there are 73 entries that you can view them all here :) there are some desecent games there :) its so nice :) and also the voting for best games is open and here is the link for the voting :)


There is a new contest running on SigmaNine.net community :) its their first contest :) the theme is to make a game that set on eart in the past you have 24 hours to finish the game but the deadline of the compo extends till 25 January :)

About the IGF student entries :) as I usual I didnt pass to the finals (as expected :D) but the students final entries are truely amazing :) here is a link to see some entries :)

At the last some YoYoGames compo entries are rockin' till now :) the are still indevelopment but the rocks


1- CowboyKilla is a collab between Banov and Andrew both are amazing game designers since they are now collaborating so their game also an amazing master peice you should try the demo :)


2- StarLoad looks descent although I couldn't run it either on my PC or laptop it threw an Unexpected exception for some people while others dont threw :) but the designer of this game (GraniteGear) make lots of amazing stuff before so I think this game will be cool :)


3- Extinction 3D is an amazing 3D game that reveals the power of GM it is made by Sakisa one of the most talented GM game designer he made lots of cool games like CrimeLife series :)


4- Symphony game is made by 3dpursit :) and the game looks so nice :)
and there are more amazing games coming in the way :)

By these games my probability to win the compo will be very small :S I know that but I won't let hope pass I will continue my Night Guard game and never give hope :)

YoYoGames Compos returns again

Hey All,

A very delightful news I just saw YoYoGames have started new Compo for the new year.
The theme of the compo is to make a game for handheld device using GM7 or GM8
Compo Rules (Copied from YoYoGlog)

  1. Your Game must be less than 10MB (uncompressed)EXE only…NO ZIP files.
  2. Maximum Screen Size 480X272
  3. No DLLs or other extension packages can be used.
  4. No Installation packages.
  5. No use of the registry.
  6. Game Controls must use cursor keys and space-bar only, escape to quit
  7. Game Maker versions 7 or 8 only
  8. All games must be tagged “Competition” and “05″
  9. Contest finishes March 30th 2010 at Midnight GMT

I will particpate in the compo with a new game (the game idea was developed for RoboSquid Contest but I didn't start on it at all as I was too busy)

Yesterday I started making a platform engine so as to use it in my future games where this game will be one of them and Alexitrón (The designer of lots of amazing games such as The Power) told me that he will help me in level designing as I am horrible at it. (I am so happy when I knew that Alex will help me :) )

Today when I hear about the YoYoGames Competition 05 I decided to participate in it with my newgame which is called Night Guard :)

I won't talk about it for now when I finish some parts of it I will post about it :)

Other news about GameMaker and YoYoGames the new GM8 logo will not be changed any more as Sandy said and here is the latest version of it (In my view the orginal logo have more professional look than that but doesnt describe GameMaker at all)

Another news that YoYoGames will update site InfraStructure on Monday and if the update goes well the new YoYoGames 5th Competition will be launched WoWoW. For more info here is the link.
